Early this morning, I was walking along the beach when I suddenly noticed this on the shore.

The silence broke first. A shape in the sand that should not have been there. My heart began to pound as I walked closer, each step slower than the last. It didn’t move. It didn’t look human. But it didn’t look like driftwood anymore either. My mind raced, torn between calling for help and running away.

For a moment I just stood there, the wind whipping around me, hearing only the waves and my own breathing. The thing at my feet was enormous, pale, and too smooth to be anything I recognized. Its tail curved in an unnatural arc, like it had been twisted or broken, yet there was something oddly deliberate about its shape, as if it belonged exactly that way.

I snapped photos with shaking hands and searched frantically online, comparing every angle. Whale? No. Dolphin? Not quite. Some deep-sea creature washed ashore? Nothing matched. The more I zoomed in, the less sense it made. Finally, after posting the images in a local wildlife group, the answer came: an experimental, hyper-realistic movie prop, lost from a recent film shoot up the coast. All that fear, all that mystery—over a forgotten piece of someone else’s story, lying there in the tide like a secret never meant for me.
